Cap Cana, Dominican Republic, August 8, 2010 – As part of what proved to be an exciting sporting event, Enrique Ricart, from the boat  “Caramba”, was crowned champion of the 2010 Friendship Tournament.  This tournament was held jointly with the participants of the III Cap Cana Blue Marlin Classic, and the XX International Blue Marlin Fishing Tournament, of the Club Nautico of Santo Domingo, all of them competing for a prize of one million pesos or US$27,000, sponsored by Proseguros,  which was awarded to the Top Team.

Cap Cana, Dominican  Republic. June 21^st,  2010.  Anglers from different nations met last weekend at Cap Cana Marina to participate in the Second annual White Marlin Fishing Tournament as part of the 2010 Fishing Season at Cap Cana.

 Day 1 included angler registration, the official welcome cocktail and the captains meeting. Day 2 was the first day of competition, with lines in the water from 7: 30 m to 5pm.  Like all Billfish tournaments held at Cap Cana, the 2^nd annual White Marlin tournament was a strictly “catch and release” event in an effort to promote the conservation and growth of Billfish in the Dominican Republic.   

The awards ceremony was held at the elegant outdoor restaurant Il Cappuccino inside Marina Cap Cana.  Mr. Michael Laison, of the United States of America and top boat “Sound Machine,” was awarded 1st. Place in the Category of Best Angler, First marlin release and Last marlin release of the tournament.

Cap Cana, Dominican Republic, May 31,  2010. After three days of activities, the 2010 Puerto Rico Light Tackle Association Cap Cana Invitational  ended on Sunday, with the participation of more than 30 anglers aboard of 12 boats, all of them from the neighboring island of Puerto Rico.

In addition, this Puerto Rico Light Tackle Association tournament, which was founded 40 years ago is part of the 2010 Cap Cana Fishing Season.  This competition has been held in San Juan Puerto Rico during the last 12 years and it is the first time that it was held in a Dominican Marina.  As of this year, Cap Cana will be the official headquarters for this important tournament characterized by light tackle fishing.

Nine year old, Jack McCluskey, is the youngest angler to reach the Royal Slam Billfish Category

Cap Cana,Dominican Republic, March 28, 2010 -Fred Couples made Champions Tour history today at the Punta Espada golf club, winning The Cap Cana Championship with a record score of 195, 21-under par, for a two shot victory over Corey Pavin.  
Couples put on a display of golf worthy of a Renoir, painting broad brushstrokes of artistry over the 7,170-yard, par-72 course and winning in stunning fashion.
