Construction of ultra luxury boutique hotel at Cap Cana begins

With an approximate investment of 25 million dollars and an extension of nearly 9,000 square meters, Eden Roc at Cap Cana is set to open its doors during November 2011. The vision of Solaya is to create “a Caribbean Monaco at Cap Cana, Dominican Republic” according to Mr. Franck Messiah, president of the company and whose country of origin is Monaco, worldwide renowned as the most glamorous and luxurious European destination.

During the ceremony, Mr. Angelo Mazzarella, owner of Solaya Hotels & Resorts, remarked “our main aspiration is to become an example of excellence in luxury boutique hotels in the Caribbean region. This property will generate approximately hundred direct work positions, and at its early stages will have a staff formed at a 20% by European hospitality professionals of the highest level, with the aim to provide the best training to local hotel professionals. With the time, the portion of foreign work force would be reduced to a 10%”. Mr. Mazzarella also added “we have chosen Dominican Republic as the perfect place to develop the first hotel of our company after travelling all around the Caribbean Islands and confirm the unique character of the Dominican people, a country full of friendly and hopeful individuals, with an efficient political guidance providing ample support to foreign investment projects. And the best place in the Dominican Republic is Cap Cana, for its unmatched beauty and the quality of its facilities”.

The hospitality development will have 38 suites and a total of 43 sleep rooms with sizes ranging from 75 to 577 square meters (800 to 6,180 square feet), each one with its private pool and exclusive massage and relaxation area. All the suites will benefit from master control of light, temperature and sound through an iPad system specially developed for Eden Roc.

Modeled after the luxurious and glamorous French and Italian Riviera, Eden Roc Cap Cana, will feature Mediterranean Revival style architectural elements. The boutique hotel will offer guests four A la Carte restaurants, access to the exclusive Caleton Beach Club (operated as well by Solaya Hotels & Resorts) and will present guests a wide array of amenities and entertainment programs. In such manner, the property will offer guests the opportunity to enjoy the best golf experience of the Caribbean at Punta Espada, a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, and delight themselves with the impressive Marina at Cap Cana.

Eden Roc at Cap Cana will be affiliated to the prestigious organization “The Leading Hotels of the World”, which assembles the most exclusive and luxurious hotels of all over the world. The reputation of this organization is given by the excellence that derives from the most strict quality standards required for all properties to become a member of this group. This alliance represents the perfect complement for the region since Eden Roc will be able to compete with the best boutique hotels of the Caribbean, located at famed and exclusive islands such as: Anguilla, Barbados, St. Barths, St. Martin and Turks & Caicos.
